Here we go!
OK so this is going to be my first post....so please be gentle. :) Lately I have been looking around our house and deciding that I have no style whatsoever...My house is just so boring. Maybe it's because we just moved in or because we have a toddler but our house resembles more of a college dorm than a home of soon to be 30 somethings with a child. This is something that I have been fighting with as long as I can remember. I go to other peoples houses and they have such cute taste...their houses always look so put together. The paint on the walls, the cute little items placed on their coffee tables. WHERE AM I GOING WRONG. Even Nathan has noticed my lack of "decorating ability." One day we were in Target and I told him that I wanted to get something cute for the house. I picked up a vase of flowers and commented that "maybe this would be cute!" He just gave me this look like I was from Mars. When we were moving into our last house he put a lot of the stuff away becasue I just don't know where it should go. So if anybody has some style that they would like to share with me I would greatly appreciate it!

I have no style my Dear.....I put up the pics of Sweet Pea, but that is all I really did...Brad did the rest! LOL

Welcome to blogging! I'd be willing to help, but keep in mind, everyone's style is different. First of all, are the walls painted? Color is a great place to start! Keep in mind when I ask if they're painted, I don't mean white!
ReplyDeleteOMG! Darling, its sooo nice to see you. BTW, I think having no style is a style, so you just go on with your no style self. But if it's really making you crazy try watching HGTV or 'clean house' or one of those redecorating shows, they always get me motivated to redecorate my house.

ReplyDeleteWell, with regards to style in home decorating, with a todller and a dog, I'd go with Early American Garage Sale for a couple of years. If you try anything else, you'll just be mad all the time that the kid and pet are wrecking your good stuff....
My personal style is just a step up from EAGS. I think we've graduated to St. Vincent De Chic, which is just a fancy way of saying we now find furnishings at thrift stores and back-of-the-store-bargain-caves. My fondest hope is that someday I will be able to afford something made of real wood, and not laminate. Oh, and coffee tables, just like the big girls.
